The Machinegunner is the only primary defencive class in WW1:Source version 1.13B (however this will change in the upcoming 2.0 update). The Machinegunner carries a heavy weapon and is therefore the slowest of all classes in the team. Should he get into a close quarter combat situation, the Machinegunner is provided with a trench club. The trench club is a moderatly powerful melee weapon which has slightly less hit reach than the rifle bayonet.  The Machinegunner must mount his MG on a free surface (ground, boxes, upper edges of walls, etc.) before being able to fire . Once his weapon is set, the Machinegunner is unable to move until the MG is dismounted.

All classes share the basic rifleman model/skin in each teams.
